“As an American company based in the Silicon Valley, Sonim is proud to do its part to support our nation’s armed services,” said Robert Escalle, the company’s Senior Director of Public Safety and Defense. “We are very proud to be selected by Northrop Grumman and to be able to provide the world’s toughest, most durable smartphones to the world’s best fighting force."

And, in addition to its touch screen, the XP6 was purpose-built to provide a numeric keypad for outdoor work, providing the best choice for those making the transition from Private Mobile Radio (PMR) devices.

Sonim smartphones also have a robust suite of industrial-grade accessories, such as remote speaker microphones, vehicle kits, and accessories that meet intrinsically safe requirements. The Sonim XP6 is available nationwide at AT&T.

The software allows for point to point push to talk calling, user priority with audio pre-emption, talker ID history, scan virtual talk groups, mapping and online user presence. Users now have a next generation push to talk experience that outperforms typical two-way radio’s giving users more information to communicate effectively.
